YEAR OLDS

Each day at ECHO brings a new set of activities to our exhibit floor, from live animal feedings and hands-on science experiments to crafts made of recycled materials, and more.

ECHO Encounters

ECHO Staff and our trained Volunteers make sure you get the most out of your visit to ECHO by providing special daily programs that highlight exhibits, regional happenings, science phenomena, and historical artifacts. Visit our Daily Activities page for a sample of just some of our encounters, and then check our Events Calendar for daily listings of Special Events. You never know what you'll encounter each day at ECHO!

ECHO Summer Camps

ECHO has teamed up with other local organizations to include ECHO as part of a camp experience. Check out our exciting ECHO Summer Camps.

Young Guests use recycled materials to craft their very own "sea lampreys" during ECHO Earth Weeks.

Theme Weekends

Join ECHO Staff and Volunteers on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the school year for a series of science theme weekends. Science experiments, crafts, games and stories may all be included in the daily weekends schedule, focusing on a specific science theme.

Each theme weekend is different. Drop a maple seed "helicopter" from our mezzanine, walk like a bobcat, or paint on snow. Each day offers a variety of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and science experiments. Join us for themes such as animal signs, maple sugaring, and much, much more. Please check our Events Calendar for specific dates and times.

Wacky Wednesdays

During our summer months, join ECHO Staff and Volunteers for the wackiest of Wednesdays! You may find us creating egg-dropping contraptions, designing boats that don't sink (or sometimes do!), and even making mud-flinging catapults. These activities are appropriate for ages 8 and up, and are designed to engage the brain, move the body, and put ideas into action.

Please check our Events Calendar for specific dates and times.

Movie Shorts

Guests gather on the deck to test their egg-dropping contraptions built as part of a Wacky Wednesday at ECHO.
Usually science-themed, our Movie Shorts offer guests an opportunity to learn about an aspect of science as it relates to our changing exhibit or to general science-based topics. For 15-30 minutes you'll have the opportunity to learn, while relaxing for a bit in a quiet space. Check with the Front Desk on the day of your visit for specific titles and times.
