About The
Exhibit
Our Body: The Universe Within is
a traveling science exhibit on human anatomy presented by
ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in partnership with
the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
The exhibit consists of six galleries of actual
human specimens in a logical presentation of the biological
systems of the human body: Musculoskeletal, Head and Nervous,
Urinary/Reproductive (including a unit on prenatal), Digestive,
Respiratory, and Cardiovascular. The exhibition was designed
to educate, enlighten, and allow all who attend to understand
the complexities of the human body and to see how each system
functions and relates to all the other systems. As a way
to orient the visitor, the exhibit opens with a display
of the history of anatomy throughout the ages from the earliest
drawings to the present-day process of plastination.
The interactive map below will give you a detailed description
of each exhibit section. Simply place your cursor over the
area of interest and view the pop-up information window.
