ECHO supports teen Personalized Learning Pathways through mentored learning opportunities tailored to individual student need. Opportunities take place on-site, remotely, or combination of the two.

Service Learning
What better way to complete your school's service learning requirement than to volunteer at ECHO? Each candidate will be paired with a member of our expert education staff and focus on an area of their choosing, including:
  • Marketing
  • Development
  • Education
  • Guest Services
  • IT & AV

Grade Requirements: High school
Time Commitment: Minimum 25 hours

Supported Independent Study
Do you have a special interest in a specific project? Join ECHO's experts to explore topics related to the Lake Champlain Basin and its inhabitants. Students will be paired with an ECHO mentor to discuss and develop their independent project. Possible topic areas include:
  • Local History
  • Aquatic Animals
  • STEM Education
  • Marketing
  • Event Planning

Grade Requirements: Middle or high school
Time Commitment: Varies with interest and project requirements

How It Works

1. Apply: Applications are accepted year-round.
2. Interview: You will be contacted for an interview to discuss your schedule & learning goals.
3. Go: You will work with an ECHO educator to create and execute a Personalized Learning Plan.
